Mary Kay Inc., a worldwide advocate of women's empowerment, proudly announced its formal signatory status for the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) in the Asia Pacific area on Women's Entrepreneurship Day. Following its worldwide promise in March 2019, the firm is now reinforcing its commitment to encouraging women's entrepreneurship in Asia-Pacific, where it has long been associated with outstanding business prospects and community involvement.
The UN Women and UN Global Compact created the WEPs in 2010 to provide a comprehensive framework for corporations to advance gender equality and women's empowerment throughout the workplace, marketplace, and community. Mary Kay's decision to join the WEPs highlights the company's concept of women's empowerment as a comprehensive undertaking that extends beyond career achievement to include a plan for verifiable progress and impact.
"At Mary Kay, we lead by providing women from all walks of life with the right tools, mentorship, and education so they can make choices that lead to a fulfilling and meaningful life for themselves, their families, and communities," said Wendy Wang, President, Mary Kay Asia-Pacific Region.
To commemorate this occasion, Mary Kay China published its first "Thinking Like A Woman" Empowering Women Impact Report, which highlighted accomplishments that corresponded with the 7 WEPs Principles. Mary Kay's commitment to women's empowerment is not just a corporate ethos, but a tangible force making a positive impact across the Asia-Pacific region, from empowering independent beauty consultants to investing in digital tools, creating an inclusive workplace, and contributing to community initiatives.
