Masami Tyson appointed to the US Japan Councils Board of Directors

Masami Tyson who is a partner of Womble Bond Dickinson has been appointed to the U.S.-Japan Council's Board of Directors (USJC). The UJSC is an invitation-only group that works to strengthen the connections between the United States and Japan. Top business leaders, sports, political, and entertainment world as well as diplomats from both countries make up this membership.

Masami joined UJSC in 2019. She founded the Shin-Issei Affinity Group and served there as its founding chair. There she devoted herself to the improvement of the group's membership and also increase the exposure of the Southeast to U.S.-Japan-related events. While serving on the organization's board of directors, she did some additional UJSC activities like organizing Women's Leadership panel discussions and being chosen to attend the Consul General/Japanese American Dialogues in Washington, DC, in 2019 and 2020.

Masami advises global firms, particularly Japanese organizations who are looking forward to doing business in the United States at Womble Bond Dickinson. She is expanding Womble Bond Dickinson's Japan practice and offers Japanese and multinational corporations a wide range of business, legal, and economic growth, which also includes assisting clients with an understanding of the procedure for establishing operations in the U.S. She is highly talented at structuring, negotiating and handling complex contracts with general corporate issues in both Japanese and English.

The U.S.-Japan council is a group whose members are more into interpersonal connections that effectively bring together Japanese and U.S. leaders to discuss and find out solutions to mutual problems. UJSC is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit educational organization that has its headquarters in Washington, DC, and was established in 2018 and has its staff from California, Hawaii, and Tokyo.
