Mastercard's Beena Pothen Wins Best Executive Award- Financial Technology

Beena Pothen, Country Manager for Malaysia & Brunei of Mastercard has vanquished and recognized at Malaysia Management Excellence Awards 2024 for guiding the company through its digital transformation.

Headquartered in NY, Mastercard caters in the IT Services and IT Consulting industry with specialities in global digital payments/commerce, technology, innovative mobile payment solutions, and processing.

Beena has been working with Mastercard for the over 13 years now. In addition, Beena also holds the position of the first female country manager for Mastercard in Malaysia, armed with more than 20 years of experience in bringing solid business growth. She has also worked in various industries that includes Technology, Banking, FMCG to Pharmaceuticals.

Prior to this organisation, she was working with Mashreq Bank as the Marketing Manager for nearly 2 years. Besides, her career experiences also include Barclays where she worked for 2 years as Head of Products and Acquisitions and at Mashreq Bank as Group Product Manager from 2003 to 2006 in UAE. Her academical background involves an MBA degree in Marketing from Mumbai University, India.

Her leadership capabilities pushed Mastercard towards becoming a public-private collaboration’s global exemplar which utilises technology for the creation of lasting positive change.
