Melissa Binder, a managing director on the distribution team at PPM America, Inc. (PPM), has been selected to lead Women Investment Professionals (WIP) starting from July 1, 2023. PPM announced the appointment, recognizing Melissa's extensive experience and dedication to WIP throughout her investment career.
Melissa has been an active member of WIP since the beginning of her investment journey in 2006. Joining PPM in 2017, she actively participated in WIP's Events Committee and took on the role of WIP Treasurer in 2019. With a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Illinois and a master's degree in economics, finance, and accounting from the University of Chicago, Melissa brings a strong educational foundation to her leadership position. Additionally, she holds a CFA® charter, further showcasing her expertise in the investment industry.
WIP, a nonprofit organization based in Chicago, consists of a community of female investment professionals. Initially formed as a small group for women professionals to discuss workplace challenges, WIP has now grown to include over 400 members. The organization aims to enhance opportunities for women to achieve their full potential by offering educational programs, professional and personal development opportunities, and networking events across various disciplines and industries.
