Michigan Ross to award GCC Women's Empowerment and Leadership in Sustainability Scholarships

The Financial Times rated the University of Michigan's Stephen M. Ross School of Management as one of the Top 10 worldwide executive education providers. Today, the school revealed the recipients of the 2023 Executive Education GCC Scholarship.

Aspiring executives who are devoted to gender diversity and women's empowerment and who seek to improve their leadership abilities are encouraged to apply for the GCC Women's Empowerment Scholarship, which aims to progress and empower them.

The second category, which was just introduced this year and is called GCC Leadership in Sustainability, honours a scholar who successfully and successfully promotes sustainability as a corporate strategy. Its goal is to increase public awareness of the effects of sustainability on the entire economic ecosystem.

Nikita Kandath, Regional Marketing Manager, EMEA Developing Markets of CommScope in the UAE, was awarded the Women's Empowerment Scholarship. The founder of Aevitas Corporate Maternity Wellness in the United Arab Emirates, Nityashri Bhatt Shah, has been awarded the Leadership in Sustainability Scholarship.

Jay Srage, Director of Operations - MEA at Michigan Ross Executive Education, said: "We are thrilled to offer this scholarship opportunity again after its success in 2019 to these two remarkable women in the GCC area who are advocating women's empowerment and sustainability.

Because of their outstanding accomplishments and dedication to furthering women in leadership and ESG efforts in their workplaces and communities, we chose these women to receive the award. We anticipate seeing how their participation in Ross Executive Education programs will help them advance their knowledge and abilities and continue to have a positive influence on their organizations and the local community.

In addition to her job at CommScope, Nikita also supports women's careers in the media, entertainment, and technology industries as the Vice Chair for Communications for the Women in Technology Network (WICT). By utilizing WICT, Nikita and her team were able to effectively launch mentoring programs in 2022 that paired up young women with female industry experts to help them map out their future professional careers.

Also, she serves as the Marketing Ambassador for CommScope's Diversity Inclusivity Business Network (DIBN), which gives women and other underrepresented groups a forum to discuss their experiences in teams. The first Women In Tech (Pride of Tech) Forum & Awards recognized Nikita as the Most Innovative Go-To-Market Strategy of the Year in 2022.

With an emphasis on sustainability as part of the ESG "Social" framework, Nityashri has created and executed a variety of mentorship programs and seminars to empower working women inside a firm. She frequently provides firms with consulting services while utilizing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) framework to develop an employee engagement plan that is long-lasting and beneficial to future generations.

Nityashri regularly meets with decision-makers, CEOs, CHROs, and DEI experts of the companies who are invested in offering services that meet ESG initiatives because she is a UN WEP (Women Empowerment Principle) Signatory, a member of the Dubai Business Women Council, and a member of the Canadian Business Council of UAE.

One of the Michigan Ross Executive Education's Open Enrollment Programs, which attracts senior leaders from diverse industries and regions and primarily focuses on leadership, management, HR leadership, and other important areas for executives, will provide scholarships to both honorees.

Michigan also collaborates with businesses to jointly develop and present complete, individually designed solutions that support client-specific efforts. The programs are offered by the University's highly esteemed professors, who use a range of simulations and action-based learning techniques to provide learners with transformative learning experiences.
