Michigan State Budget 2025 adds $3M for Women-Focused Business Groups

In the 2025 budget of the state, Michigan taxpayers shall fund four gender-specific grants comprise of $3 million in total. All the funding shall go to the non-profits professedly dedicated towards innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship.

A total of $1.5 million shall be given to a Detroit-based entrepreneurship organization ’Michigan Women Forward’. As per 990 forms on GuideStar, $2.5 million has been earned by the organisation in the year 2021 and $4 million in 2023.

As written on the website of the firm that says, “We have the mission to expand economic opportunity for women and entrepreneurs of color, empower the next generation, and celebrate and honor the accomplishments of Michigan women.”

Loan ranging from $2,500 to $50,000 is being offered by Michigan Women Forward to small businesses.

In Detroit, Women’s Innovative Social Enterprise Partnership gets $1.5 million. The website mentions the mention writing, “We have the mission to build and develop innovative, interactive, sustainable, and environmentally healthy communities throughout Detroit that prioritize Black, Brown, and marginalized residents using the resources and talents provided by purposeful partnerships.”

All the funds shall benefit women entrepreneurs or businesswomen to strategically grow in the world of business, using their full potential towards scaling their businesses.
