Mid-Ohio Valley Chamber of Commerce that organised annual women in leadership conference, has again shown up while bringing more than 300 women for one common cause. Founded in 1909, the chamber caters in the Business Consulting and Services industry with headquarters in West Virginia.
Jill Parsons, the president and CEO of the firm stated, “To bring together 300 women and actually we have some as far as Charleston and Athens, Marietta, Parkersburg and the whole area has come here because they’ve heard we put on a great event and have good speakers. It’s just a great networking opportunity so we’re so honored to be able to do that on behalf of our members.” Jill has been working with the organisation since 2010, becoming a business leader in the industry with such an extensive experience.
Considering the conference, it started off with under 100 women, having the intention to motivate as an only primary goal. However, success has come on their way, by time.
Additionally, Jill added, “To motivate women to take leadership roles in their organizations or maybe in the community they volunteer in.”
Amongst the hundreds of women, WVU Medicine Camden Clark’s MarJean Kennedy is someone for whom the conference has turned out to be helpful. She has been with the firm for last four years as the Vice President of Marketing, Development and Strategic Initiatives. Prior to this organisation, MarJean was the Director, Business Development & Marketing at Holzer Health System for 13 years, making her an industry expert.
MarJean stated, “This is a great opportunity for myself and the other leaders from our organization to network with others in the community that we don’t work with on a daily basis to may not necessarily get to know on different levels. We volunteer together in the community and this gives us opportunities to build those relationships.”
