Middle East promotes Gender Diversity; Expects 71% Surge in Indian Women Migrants

The Middle East is boosting gender diversity, attracting a 71 per cent increase in Indian women migrants over the next two to three years. Countries like UAE and Saudi Arabia are promoting leadership and STEM fields, while UAE's 2020 law encourages equal pay increasing opportunities in sectors like hospitality, healthcare, and technology.

Programs like "She's Next" and Dubai Business Women Council empower Indian women promoting economic diversification and gender diversity. Governments are implementing policies to support women's participation, including flexible work arrangements and improved maternity benefits. This shift in workforce demographics is significant in the region's workforce scaling enterprises. Reports say, the Indian women migrant workforce will see a hike from 3.5 million to 6 million by 2027 in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region.

Industries including technology, healthcare, education, renewable energy, hospitality, and finance are offering increasing work roles to Indian women workers. New opportunities are created by the UAE's expanding expat community and advanced medical facilities.

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is encouraging gender diversity in STEM and leadership roles whereas Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 calls for 36 per cent of women workers. Additionally, women now make up 41 per cent of STEM graduates from UAE government universities, surpassing the global average.

Indian women workers can expect a salary hike of up to 4.5 per cent as UAE and Saudi Arabia is creating efforts to promote wage equality. With around 50,000 business endeavors valued at AED 60 billion, Indian women are also making significant economic contributions to the UAE's economy.
