MMC Names Olga Fleming as CEO

Marina Maher has decided to resign as CEO of the integrated marketing and communications firm she created and has led since 1983, Marina Maher Communications (MMC), an Omnicom PR Group (OPRG) agency. Olga Fleming, who is currently MMC's global president, has been appointed by Marina as the company's CEO, starting immediately. For several months, Marina and Fleming had worked together to guarantee a seamless succession that puts MMC's people, client quality, and company momentum first.

Although it was a significant choice, Marina claimed that it wasn't a difficult one. We just experienced fresh business growth, and we have a promising forecast for 2023. I've always been interested in assisting women in achieving success in their professional lives and positions of leadership. It was one of the principles on which I built MMC, therefore I'm happy to be able to designate such a successful, motivating, and diverse person from within the organization," said Marina.

We developed a communications firm that defied expectations for women's communications during the past 40 years, according to Maher. "We have built upon this basis by placing the audience and culture first, resulting in unique programming. Looking ahead, I think it's now my turn to move the agency forward as well.

Marina is now MMC's non-executive chair and will act as a senior advisor on a few particular accounts. Additionally, she has been chosen by Chris Foster, CEO of ORPG, to develop and direct OPRG's first-ever Institute for Women's Leadership, which will train female business executives across the OPRG portfolio.

Marina developed an organization that, four decades later, still is creatively connecting companies to culture and generating outsized outcomes for customers. Foster credited Marina with combining her enthusiasm for women's concerns with her astute business acumen. "She is unquestionably a legend in our field. Working with Marina even as CEO of MMC has been an honour, and I'm delighted to have the opportunity to collaborate in her new position.

A Powerful Legacy:

On July 3, 1983, Marina established MMC as a female-powered agency devoted to assisting clients in connecting with and engaging female consumers. At a time when men predominated the industry, Marina's daring and avant-garde strategy is just nothing short of revolutionary. With campaigns that sensitively, intelligently, empathetically, and effectively addressed historically taboo themes like vaginal health, bothersome bladders, and menopause, the agency has pushed to push boundaries over the years. MMC also created a stir by allowing males to wear makeup and allowing women to use the restroom shampoo, defying social conventions and establishing a new benchmark for inclusivity.

MMC: The Next Chapter:

Fleming began working at MMC in 2021 as President, Health, and Corporate. In 2022, he was given the title of Global President. Fleming, a PRWeek Hall of Femme Inductee, has almost 30 years of experience leading successful U.S. and international corporate communications and public relations campaigns for clients in a range of industries and creating firms regarded as the best places to work. In addition to having a passion for businesses that wish to challenge the existing quo, Fleming has a unique background with roots in business identity, creative brand development, and storytelling. Previously, Fleming developed and served as CEO of the BCW Group's communications firm GoodFuse.

Fleming stated, "I am pleased to have the chance to continue Marina's strong legacy and to work with the MMC/RXM senior team to create even more performance for our personnel and clients. "As I consider the very next 40 years, MMC seems to have the proper basis to continue influencing and advancing the communications industry.
