A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed by Mobilink Bank and Hashoo Foundation (HF) to collectively enhance financial inclusion for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This joint effort aims to strengthen MSMEs supported and trained by Hashoo Foundation, nurturing their entrepreneurial journey. Through this partnership Mobilink Bank is committed to aiding the growth and success of small businesses in a rapidly evolving economic landscape in Pakistan.
Mobilink Bank is part of the VEON group which is a global digital operator that provides converged connectivity and online services across seven countries. Mobilink Bank’s flagship program, the Women Inspirational Network (WIN), is aimed at decreasing the gender gap in financial inclusion. Collectively leveraging their respective capacity-building programs, Mobilink Bank and HF will conduct collaborative initiatives to identify and transform ideas into business project plans.
The agreement was signed by Ghazanfar Azzam, President and CEO Mobilink Bank, and Ayesha Khan, CEO HF and Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO), Hashoo Group. senior officials from both organizations were present at the event. Women who are a part of Hashoo Group’s initiatives will also gain access to the Bank’s Bint-e-Hawwa product.
Speaking at the occasion Ghazanfar Azzam, President and CEO Mobilink Bank said, “Mobilink Bank’s partnership with HF is a powerful catalyst for change, as it fuels the growth of women-led SMEs and micro enterprises, creating a ripple effect of empowerment, prosperity and a more equitable financial landscape. Ayesha Khan highlighted the positive impact made by Hashoo Foundation on the lives of three million people through its signature programs such as Entrepreneurship Training Hub and Incubation Center (ETHIC). These initiatives have also received several awards including the International Forum (iF) Social Impact Prize, BBC Global Challenge Award, and the Clinton Global Initiatives Award, for empowering women through various value chain approaches.
