Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Mobilink Bank and UN Women Pakistan have formally teamed up to transform Pakistan's socioeconomic environment. Their joint goal is to enhance gender equality and transform the country's financial system.
In order to serve Pakistan's women, who make up half of the population, Mobilink Bank, a subsidiary of the international digital operator VEON Group, intends to meet their financial demands.
For the sake of boosting the economy across the country, they want to provide equal opportunities, give basic financial services, and support women's empowerment.
The start of a shared mission is signaled by this initial collaboration, which is also extensible for an additional year. Mobilink Bank and UN Women will collaborate to establish economic empowerment initiatives geared toward women-owned small businesses.
These programs will be in line with their objectives and focus on creating an atmosphere that helps female entrepreneurs overcome financial obstacles. The products and services offered by Mobilink Bank will be inclusive thanks to gender-responsive practices.
The COO of Mobilink Bank, Haaris Mahmood Chaudhry, emphasized the company's dedication to promoting women-owned businesses and enhancing access to financial services.
He emphasized the accomplishments of their Women Inspirational Network (WIN) initiative, which has provided specialized capacity-building solutions to more than 2,500 women.
The relationship aligns with UN Women Pakistan's mission for economic inclusion and gender equality, according to Sharmeela Rassool, the organization's country representative.
She stressed how hard they were working together to bring about change and open doors for female leaders and businesses. This alliance is a critical step toward a more just and prosperous future in Pakistan by empowering women and promoting financial inclusion.
