Mona Das, a Democratic candidate for Washington State Commissioner of Public Lands, has been named Head of International Expansion for Global Woman & Co., an organization devoted to developing women entrepreneurs throughout the world. Mirela Sula, the founder of Global Woman, made the announcement.
Global Woman & Co. aspires to empower and connect women leaders worldwide through its comprehensive portfolio, which includes an online membership and business school, podcast, magazine, TV platform, yearly conference, and clubs in over 35 countries. Das stated her excitement for the position, highlighting her dedication to encouraging female entrepreneurship, boosting access to funding, and linking leaders working on climate resilience.
Mona, a strong supporter of racial and environmental justice, aspires to be the first person of color to serve as Washington State Commissioner of Public Lands. Her new position at Global Woman & Co. is in line with her larger goal of elevating women's environmental leadership and empowering them to fight climate change locally.
"Mona Das is a leader who brings other women along with her, particularly women of color," Sula said of Mona’s selection. We're happy to have her on board to help us develop our purpose in the US and beyond."
Mona’s accomplishments as a state Senator include legislation to restrict some plastic items, the formation of a natural disaster mitigation working group, and support for climate resilience initiatives. Notably, she has committed to refuse corporate PAC and deforestation-supporting organization funding to her candidacy.
Mona Das' worldwide leadership position demonstrates her commitment to advancing women's efforts in combatting climate change and building a more resilient planet.
