Monash University is pleased to announce that Professor Helen Skouteris of the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine has been awarded the inaugural Maureen Brunt Professorial Fellowship. This prestigious fellowship, named after Monash University's first female professor, strives to promote brilliance and ambition among the university's highly prospective female teachers.
Professor Skouteris, a Monash Warwick Alliance Joint Professor of Health and Social Care Improvement and Implementation Science, has been honoured for her contributions to developmental psychology and longitudinal multi-factor research. The fellowship aims to address the gender discrepancy in female candidates to the Australian Research Council Laureate Fellowship programs at Monash University by providing additional assistance and mentoring to female academics seeking for fellowships.
Professor Skouteris expressed her joy, saying, "I am thrilled to be a part of this fantastic group of female research leaders." I am also looking forward to advancing my professional goal of improving the lives of Australian children, individuals, and families living in poverty via more equal health, social, and educational outcomes."
Monash institution, Australia's largest institution, is known for its high-impact research, excellent teaching, and innovative thinking.
