MTN's Digital Skilling Programme to Upskill 900 Youth & Women in SA

Digital Skills for Digital Jobs programme of MTN is looking forward to another 900 youth and women to upskill them with digital and entrepreneurship training over the coming year. They should come from across nine provinces in SA.

With an intent to develop female talent, MTN has mentioned about its commitment towards investing in resources while highlighting the efforts of telecoms operator in women empowerment. It has also underscored the significance of ICT skills development.

MTN SA CEO, Dineo Molefe stated, “As we mark three decades of democracy in South Africa, under the theme ‘women as pioneers of change and economic growth’, it's essential to reflect on the incredible progress made in advancing women's rights and their significant contributions to the nation's development.”

“MTN is also committed to creating opportunities for girls and women in the communities we serve. Removing barriers hindering women from entering STEM fields is crucial to closing SA’s ICT skills gap and reducing high unemployment rates,” he added.

Digital Skills for Digital Jobs programme was inspired with the belief of the relevance of effective STEM training, while meeting the demand evolution of ICT sector, as per MTN. This programme will help women to get better in digital skills.
