In order to conquer the information and communications technology (ICT) world, MTN SA Foundation has made an investment of R1 million (approximately US$56 000). It has been done towards empowering South African businesswomen.

Women in Digital Business Challenge’s 2024 edition has finally been launched by the foundation. It will continue for 6 long months and will provide an opportunity to 10 women digital pioneers for strengthening as well as growing their small enterprises into sustainable businesses.

The MTN-sponsored business development programmes’ women participants have been selected for this edition and each one amongst the 10 finalists shall get R100 000.

Arthur Mukhuvha, the general manager at MTN SA Foundation stated, “We believe that STEM-qualified women can excel within the science and tech sectors. In addition, because many of these businesses are focused on meeting community needs, women can play a vital role in helping address the skills and employment issues that our nation faces.”

This programme will give women the opportunity to grow their business as well as thrive towards a more sustainable market, getting benefits for their ideas too. The foundation has checked and shortlisted a total of 20 women for 2024’s edition.
