On May 24, 2024, the launch of Global Women’s Forum has been announced by Maccabi World Union (MWU) during the annual Congress in Kfar Maccabiah, at their Ramat Gan campus.

The Global Women’s Forum shall focus on promoting women’s voices as well as increase female leadership in over 100 cities, as per the statement given by MWU. The primary mission of the forum, which was established unofficially at the Israel-Hamas war start, is to increase international pressure for the female hostages’ immediate release which is held by Hamas in Gaza for over 200 days now.

With a plan of action, the forum still wants to go on with the awareness campaigns which is on the acts of sexual violence committed against Israeli women, kidnapped by Hamas. As per the Shirit Saks Haim, MWU Honorary Secretary and one of the founders of the forum, via a global social media campaign, all the necessary things can be done.

The women’s forum intends to increase the efforts in order to recruit female leaders across most active regions of MWU, as said by the head of the MWU European desk, Ronit Neaman. He emphasised that participants of the forum shall meet yearly, sharing share various achievements, challenges, and opportunities.
