By: GWL Team | Wednesday, 17 January 2024

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) made a crucial revelation during the CMA 2024 Winter Leadership Conference, revealing the new leadership for its Council of Manufacturing Associations. Jennifer Abril, President and CEO of the Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates, has been chosen chair, with Alison Bodor, President and CEO of the American Frozen Food Institute, serving as vice chair.

Jennifer reaffirmed her commitment to lobbying for job growth, investment, and innovation in American manufacturing, with the goal of emphasizing the importance of manufacturing to the American economy. The CMA, which includes over 200 industry-specific manufacturing groups representing 130,000 firms throughout the world, works with the NAM to build strong industry alliances. Their common purpose is to bring together the manufacturing associations and the larger business community to strategize for more job creation, investment, and innovation in the United States.

Jay Timmons, President and CEO of the National Association of Manufacturers, lauded Abril and Bodor for their critical roles in opposing rules that may stymie President Biden's aim of expanding manufacturing in the country. He was confident in their abilities to raise manufacturers' voices and position the industry for global leadership.

In addition to the leadership nominations, the CMA welcomed three new board members for 2024: Stephen Kaminski of the National Propane Gas Association, Kelly Mariotti of the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers, and Ellen Thorp of the EPDM Roofing Association. The CMA's reinforced leadership team is well-positioned to pursue its objectives while also contributing to the resilience and prosperity of American industry.
