NBDC aims to celebrate international women’s day with a purpose to put light on several contributions of Nebraska’s women business owners and entrepreneurs. Many women from different corners of the world have come to Nebraska and started their businesses and accepted this state with open arms. SBA, U.S. Small Business Administration, has reported that all Nebraska businesses were owned by 44% of women in the year 2021 & accounted for 47.2% of the workforce.

NBDC has mentioned three key women in its website who were/are associated with NBDC are:

  1. Lisa Harte, founder of Advantage Logistics, LLC
  2. Nicka Johnson, founder of Budget to Success
  3. Sara Frazier, founder of Mellow Grind Mobile Coffee and Catering

Lisa Harte is now working with Nebraska Business Development Center (NBDC) and its Nebraska APEX Accelerator program. She joined this program to get proper certification to be able to look up for government contracts. Whereas Nicka Johnson have had a work experience with the Director of Nebraska Small Business Development Center’s (SBDC) Omaha Center. SBDC is one of the programs of NBDC. Moreover, Sara Frazier has once interacted with Moraine Davis-Magnuson who is the Center Director at North Platte’s NBDC office, for some guidance regarding her financial projections and business plans.

These three are just a drop in the ocean of millions of stakeholders of NBDC. Just like these women, there were hundreds of other women who has contributed to the business world of Nebraska and helped in the economic progress of the state.
