The STEM educational program is an initiative taken to provide educational facilities for the youth of the UAE. There are two new initiatives taken for STEM, ll announced by Amideast/UAE and Boeing that will increase the chances to get benefit from STEM education for the youngsters in the UAE. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics which has its main aim of development and learning of sustainability in these fields along with aerospace engineering.
This program can be joined by students aged 14-18 years old from the selected schools in UAE. In this program, the first batch of 25 students has completed their program and now they are prepared to pursue their higher education in STEM-related subjects. The second batch of 25 students will start the program on 17 February 2023 by Amideast/UAE and Boeing. The students will be provided with both theoretical and practical about aerospace engineering and sustainable aviation.
The brand-new STEM Lab is located at Amideast center in Dubai where the Stem Ambassadors program is hosted. This Lab will turn out as a home to activities that will upskill students in the UAE. A 3D printer and other essential STEM kits will be present in the Lab.
Kuljit Ghata-Aura, the President of Boeing Middle East, Turkiye, and Africa stated that we firmly believe in the value of STEM partnerships like this one. This initiative has been taken to empower young women and other people. In the next 20 years, the Middle East needs more than 200,000 new aviation personnel. The workforce in UAE is tremendously increasing. Looking forward to continuing our engagement with Amideast while focusing on the needs of young people.
Adding to that, Sara Ek Dallal, Amideast UAE Country Director, and Daleya Uddin, Head of Public Affairs and Outreach at the U.S. Consulate Dubai also marked their statements saying that this program has become a boon to the students’ lives. It improved their critical thinking and creativity. The UAE needs these types of talent to flourish. This is also inspiring to acknowledge the young talents pursuing careers that will leverage science, technology, engineering, and maths to build a more sustainable future.
