Recently, the annual Women of the Year has been named by Time magazine while recognizing the ones working for the upliftment of women’s rights, creating a more equitable world.
The magazine has published its issue’s three worldwide covers in total where three recognised women has been featured i.e., Nicole Kidman, the actor and producer; A’ja Wilson, the MVP of WNBA and lastly Jordan Chiles, the Olympic gymnast. The magazine has taken in-depth interviews of these women and each cover comes with a written interview.
In a statement, Jessica Sibley, the Chief Executive Officer of TIME stated, “The 2025 TIME Women of the Year exemplify visionary leadership, inspiring global change through their unwavering commitment to building a more inclusive and equitable future for all.”
Additionally, Lucy Feldman, the Editorial Director at TIME also says that women and girls all across the globe comes across significant challenges regularly. She also mentions that the names on the list are addressing issues “from gender-based violence and attacks on women’s rights to the dangers of a volatile climate. But everywhere those threats can be found, so too can leaders pushing for change.”
The list mentions a total of 13 women. Amongst all, Nicole is being recognised for her relentless work towards shifting the power balance in Hollywood. Another name includes the heroic woman, Gisèle Pelicot who is being praised for being a voice for the survivors of sexual assault, globally. In addition, Amanda Zurawski, the reproductive rights activist has also been featured for her prominent work in the United States.
