Object Computing, Inc., a technology corporation located in St. Louis, launched on January 11, 2024, a number of programs geared at encouraging women to pursue professions in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

Despite worldwide progress, gender disparities in STEM disciplines continue, with women accounting for just 40% of computer science graduates, 28% of engineering graduates, and 22% in cutting-edge sectors such as artificial intelligence, according to the United Nations.

Object Computing, a woman-owned business, emphasizes the necessity of creating a welcoming environment for women in technology. With 40% women and people of colour on the team, the company's latest program includes quarterly meet-ups for women on the team to learn, motivate, and encourage one another.

The firm is an enthusiastic supporter of the Women Who Code St. Louis network, a global organization devoted to supporting women in technology fields. Since the chapter's creation in 2019, members of the Object Computing team have played an important role in its leadership.

"Women in tech industries bring innovation, fresh perspectives, and creative problem-solving," said Tricia O'Brien, Delivery Director at Object Computing and Director of Women Who Code-St. Louis. “They add to the team's variety, which leads to greater results."

Object Computing will throw a luncheon to commemorate the contributions of women to the company's success in recognition of Women's History Month. Women who have made major contributions to the field will be recognized on a weekly basis.

"Empowering women in technology is essential for fostering innovation, achieving gender equality, and advancing a workforce that reflects global diversity," said Gina Bremehr, President of Object Computing. “With the advancement of artificial intelligence, equitable involvement by women is critical to reduce biases in data-driven decision making."
