To provide resources and mentorship to women entrepreneurs in Latin America and the Caribbean, the Organisation of American States (OAS), by its Executive Secretariat for Integral Development (SEDI) collaborated with the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center which is a non-profit dedicated to increasing inclusion and access for entrepreneurs.
The firm was praised by Kim Osborne, the OAS executive secretary for Integral Development for taking this important step towards increasing women's participation in the formal economy by providing them with the tools they need to survive and thrive in a world that is advancing by digital technologies.
Kim stated that their goal is to create a sustainable livelihood for women while accelerating regional economic recovery through capacity development, networking, and mentoring with stakeholders at the highest levels of business innovation.
Adding to that, Nicola Corzine the Executive director of the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center expressed their gratitude to collaborate with the OAS which brings 35 independent states of the Americas to help female entrepreneurs in defining, setting, and achieve business milestones.
The agreement was signed as a part of the Small Business Administration's Women's Business Summit which took place on 28 and 29 March virtually.
The agreement states the joint efforts in the delivery of free business advancement resources and mentorship to promote the growth and innovation of MSME that is Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises in the Latin American and Caribbean region including support for the OAS-run Small Business Development Centres (SBDC) program, the Women's Economic Empowerment (WEE) program, and other relevant initiatives undertaken by the Secretariat for Integral Development (SEDI).
