The Rural and Regional Development Ministry (KKDW) held a skills programme on Sunday, 11 June that included around 1,908 aspiring female entrepreneurs from all over Sarawak. Participants included rural women listed under the Community Development Department (Kemas), according to Deputy Minister Datuk Rubiah Wang.

The minister further added that her ministry had started a number of socioeconomic programs called Kemas in 3017 to provide help to those female entrepreneurs to increase their income.

By implementing the "Quick Win" programme, so far 1,908 female entrepreneurs have been trained throughout Sarawak. This programme initially trains rural women with skills to become entrepreneurs. This has been stated by the minister on the launch of the Wacana-Wanita Inspirasiku Programme (Wins) at the Summer Shopping Mall.

The program not only provides skills and training to the participants but also with types of equipment via KKDW, as stated by the Kota Samarahan MP.

The programme is majorly focused on five sectors i.e. sewing, grooming, handicrafts, computer, and cooking. It is an initial effort to begin the planned activities and business. Kemas will monitor each entrepreneur. Also, it is estimated that up to 90 per cent of entrepreneurs will be able to operate their enterprises in the future.
