By: GWL Team | Tuesday, 22 October 2024

Replacing Georges Elhedery, HSBC Holdings (HSBA.L) has opened a new tab, naming insider Pam Kaur as the first female finance chief. Earlier in 2024, Georges took up the position of CEO. The firm has said that this step will streamline the bank into four business units.

In addition, HSBC caters in the Financial Services industry and specialises in Banking, Financial Services, International Finance and Banking, Wealth Management, Corporate and Business Banking, and retail banking. It has also been listed on the London, Hong Kong, New York, and Bermuda stock exchanges.

Pam’s position will be effective from January 1, 2025 when the firm shall restructure all of its operations, turning them into four distinct business lines i.e., Hong Kong; UK; corporate and institutional banking; and international wealth and premier banking.

Moreover, Pam has been working in HSBC for the last 11 years, holding up different positions. Prior to this firm, she has worked with Deutsche Bank as Global Head of Group Audit for 2 years and at RBS as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer - Restructuring and Risk Division for 4 years.

Georges stated, “The new structure will result in a simpler, more dynamic, and agile organisation as we focus on executing against our strategic priorities, which remain unchanged.”
