PayPal Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: PYPL) has invested heavily in two funds focused at increasing women's economic empowerment and financial inclusion. These contributions are part of a wider $108 million pledge made by PayPal during the UN Generation Equality Forum in 2021 to assist women's financial inclusion and economic development.

Sweef Capital's Southeast Asia Women's Economic Empowerment Fund (SWEEF), located in Singapore, is the inaugural investment. Sweef Capital is a woman-led fund focused to improving the lives of women in Southeast Asia. It focuses on recognizing potential in underdeveloped areas as well as regional issues. Sweef Capital targets sustainable lives, quality education, decent job, good health, and economic growth through its investments, which have a multiplier impact. Their focus includes women-led companies, firms staffed mostly by women, and organizations that actively promote gender equality and diversity.

The second investment is in the Quona Opportunity Fund, which is a component of Quona Capital, a venture firm that helps creators establish revolutionary fintech firms in emerging countries. Their investments are aimed at breaking down barriers in order to deliver high-quality financial services to underserved people and small companies throughout the world.

PayPal's Acting Chief Financial Officer, Gabrielle Rabinovitch, emphasized the importance of women's economic empowerment, emphasizing that it helps not just individuals but also families, communities, and the global economy. These initiatives are the first step in PayPal's commitment to increasing women's involvement in the global economy and creating new possibilities.

In addition to these investments, PayPal is actively involved in relationships with groups such as the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, which supports women entrepreneurs, and Opportunity International, which provides grants to empower women living in poverty. These activities demonstrate PayPal's commitment to the $108 million pledge it made to empower women and girls in the global financial system.
