Philippines' Women's Business Council Delegation meets in Cambodia

On January 22, 2025, the delegation of Women’s Business Council of the Philippines was received by the Kingdom of Cambodia’s Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh. The delegation was led by Chairperson Ms. Rosemarie P. Rafael.

The delegations from Philippines met with an aim towards exploring business as well as further investment opportunities in the Kingdom. Rosemarie stated during the courtesy meeting, that the delegation was comprised of a total 35 Filipino women leaders and businesspersons. They would take part in a business forum which is jointly organised by the Philippines’ Women’s Business Council and Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia.

They also showed interest on the occasion for investing in several key sectors in Cambodia that includes agriculture (rice industry), aviation, tourism, automotive, education, healthcare, transport and logistics, retail, and manufacturing. In addition, all these leaders expressed their interest in looking for alliance with Cambodian female entrepreneurs, specifically in areas like vocational upskilling, exchanging experiences and best practices, and capacity building.

The activities of the council highly valued by Samdech Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet in response for promoting women’s role in business while welcoming the interest of the council in exploring investments as well as opportunities of trade in Cambodia. He also expressed his delight at the upcoming business forum organisation in Cambodia along with the planned forum in the Philippines in the future. These forums would aid in bridging businesspersons or investors from both countries, as emphasised by the Premier and creating more investment opportunities.

Furthermore, Samdech Borvor Thipadei added that Cambodia’s Royal Government has always prioritised the private sector’s success by implementing supportive policies alongside incentive measures for encouraging investment and business activities in the vicinity.
