Rochester City hosts MWBE Conference for Women Entrepreneurs

Rochester city is celebrating local minority and women entrepreneurs and community leaders with an on-going event. The beginning of second annual three-day City of Rochester Upstate MWBE Conference took place at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center on May 8, 2024.

MWBE (Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises) is known to be a federal program that focuses on aiding minority and women business owners in order to vanquish racial and structural barriers while also securing government contracts for goods and services. The event was then followed by an awards dinner along with a keynote address.

This particular event is platform for people to network while participating in interactive training sessions. In addition, a special surprise was presented to longtime organizer Constance Mitchell-Jefferson by Rochester Mayor Malik Evans and Monroe County Executive Adam Bello. Mayor Malik stated, “We do hereby proclaim May 8, 2024 to be Constance Mitchell-Jefferson Day in Rochester and Monroe County.”

The event shall prevail till May, 9, 2024 from 8 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. and on May 10, 2024, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. This on-going conference serves as great opportunity for the minority and women business owners to expand their connections and thrive towards success.
