In a historic milestone, 1000 South Australian women, many of whom are first-time company owners, have saved more than $1 million in fees thanks to the Malinauskas Labor Government's Women in company Foundations program. The program, which is part of the $4 million Women in Business project, seeks to enable women to effectively develop and run enterprises, adding to South Australia's 40% female-owned small businesses.
The Foundations program, designed for women new to company management, provides mentorship and small group training on critical skills such as business management, finance, accounting, marketing, digital technologies, and cybersecurity. The curriculum, which is typically priced at $1350, is government-subsidized, allowing participants to receive this complete training for a considerably discounted charge of $88.
This campaign has received enthusiastic support from women in both remote locations, such as the Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula, and Kangaroo Island, as well as urban Adelaide. Small enterprises, the backbone of South Australia's economy, contribute an astounding $49 billion each year and employ 300,000 South Australians.
Andrea Michaels said, "It's fantastic that 1000 women have finished the Malinauskas Government's Women in Business Foundations program. That's 1000 women with the abilities to effectively establish and operate a new business while also employing South Australians."
The Malinauskas Government continues dedicated to helping small company owners, as seen by its $14 million Small company Strategy, which includes 19 new programs targeted at stimulating development and success among the region's small firms. Participants, such as Bridgette Hasting of Barossa Helicopters, acknowledge to the program's effectiveness, citing the crucial assistance they got for their company success.
