SBA to offer $30 million Grant Funding to Businesswomen

A total of $30 million shall be offered by the Small Business Administration for Women's Business Centers in grant funding. This will be for a variety of projects that includes funding to open a center in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

In order to open and operate a Women’s Business Center, the organisations that are eligible and gets selected will be awarded up to $150,000. In calculation, there are 152 in-person Women's Business Centers at present in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.

Assistant Administrator for the SBA’s Office of Women’s Business Ownership, Christina Hale stated, “Every new WBC helps open doors for women entrepreneurs who need access to training and practical assistance to stand up and grow their small businesses.”

The organisations that are needs to be eligible for the grants must be providing women-owned small businesses with mostly or entirely virtual counseling and training services across the country. They must have in-person offices too. These grants will be beneficial for the upliftment of these organisations and shall be able to help women-led small businesses in a much better way as compared to before getting the grant. The funding will also help in the expansion of these small businesses led by women.
