Recently, Southern Black Girls and Women's Consortium (Southern Black Girls) has made an announcement regarding the launch of its new, innovative Dream Investment Program. Founded in the year 2017, it is a Non-profit Organization (NGO) and a leader in empowering Black girls and women in the South, being headquartered in Selma with specialities in Grantmaking and COMMUNITY.

In addition, the program has been designed with an intent to assist as well as elevate Black girl and women entrepreneurs. It has been developed in an alliance with Kindred Futures (formerly Atlanta Wealth Building Initiative) while being supported from Kellogg Foundation’s grant. This particular program looks forward to providing financial investment, business mentorship, entrepreneurial training and education to a total of 25 current and aspiring business owners.

LaTosha Brown, the Visionary Founder of Southern Black Girls stated, “Launching the Dream Investment Program is literally a dream come true. This program allows us the opportunity to realize our mission of investing in the dreams of Black girls and women. Our work through this program will be a clear testament of our commitment to building radical futures, expanding opportunities and creating a supportive ecosystem where Black girl and women-owned businesses can thrive and be respected in the marketplace.”
