The second roundtable of series has been successfully hosted by Sharjah Business Women Council (SBWC) alongside the American University of Sharjah (AUS) that aimed at the empowerment of female entrepreneurs in the UAE.
The event took place at the American University of Sharjah with the theme ‘Female Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in the UAE: Access to Funding Challenges’. A roundtable was also held that featured prominent leaders’ diverse group as well as business founders which includes SBWC Director HE Mariam Bin Al Shaikh; Doctor, SBWC member, entrepreneur and social development expert Sheikha Dr. Alia Al Qassimi; Sharjah Consultive Council Vice Chairwoman and Sharjah Chamber of Commerce Board Member HE Haleema Al Owais amongst others.
“This round-table table is an ongoing process to involve the government and decision makers in the private sector to see what we can do to make it easier for business women in the UAE and, in particular, the Sharjah ecosystem. It is very important for us to have all bodies to work together to achieve the same goals. By creating this partnership we help bring information back to our members and help them connect with the right people; hopefully the next step will be to get them all engaged,” added Mariam Al Shaikh.
