The Sharjah Business Women Council prepares itself for a key participation at the Expand North Star 2024, which will take place at Dubai Harbour from October 13th to 16th, 2024. As the official backer for "Women in Tech," SBWC aggressively continues to encourage female entrepreneurs and patronize technological innovation. This is the seventh year of council participation in the event, contributing to its continuous efforts at promoting women in non-traditional sectors, such as technology and AI.
SBWC is showcasing eight outstanding female-led startups at its dedicated booth, where the platform exists for engagement with investors, industry leaders, and fellow entrepreneurs. Given the vision of H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, the council wants to develop strong meaningful connections for the promotion of its impact-oriented initiatives. The booth becomes an important networking platform that leads to opportunities for visibility, partnerships, and funding for featured startups.
The participating startups are spread over different technological solutions across various industries. One of them is Al Rawi for Creative Content, which uses emerging technologies to manage events and AI for researching purposes, and Heuristic World, an EdTech platform that transforms computer science education through a game-based approach. Others come in the form of AI-driven legal research automation through Itifaq as well as Jawdaman's mobile app giving users an analysis of the composition of food and cosmetic products.
Within the health tech industry, KosAI has developed AI assistance to aid patients who are chronically ill with managing their appointments. In contrast, Luga AI has developed a multimodal, multi-lingual Arabic AI agent that is maximally suited to be accessible across various industries. Meanwhile, Soulhouette amalgamates AI and conventional medicine to design wearable technology that bestows benefits upon the health perspectives of at-risk patients. And indeed, Tapy comes forth as another shining example in developing the Aman Watch-a gadget designed specifically for people of determination to encourage remote care giving.
SBWC also hosted the Women in Tech Forum, including a panel presentation on "Access to Capital: Overcoming Funding Challenges for Women in Tech." Dr. Muna Al Dhabbah and Alena Yudina were some of the panelists who discussed various fundraising tactics, building networks, and alternative funds and methods.
Among the numerous initiatives pursued by SBWC for continued innovative ideas, it is 'participating in Supernova Challenge 2.0'. Two firms under the SBWC umbrella qualify for this competition, where the pool prize has reached US$200,000, of which US$10,000 is reserved to the "Women in Tech" category.
