Scotiabank, the first Canadian financial institution to earn this prestigious sponsorship level, has proudly announced its role as the Americas Gold Sponsor for Women in Payments from 2024 to 2026. Scotiabank will support Women in Payments projects across Canada, the United States, and Latin America beginning January 1, 2024.

"At Scotiabank, we recognize that fostering greater diversity not only cultivates a wealth of thoughts and perspectives, but also propels innovative advancements in our products and services," said Chris Manning, Executive Vice President, Global Business Payments. Manning underscored the bank's commitment to collaborating with Women in Payments, which aligns with the organization's aim of providing comprehensive professional progression opportunities for women in the payments and fintech sectors throughout the world.

Since 2012, Scotiabank has been actively promoting Women in Payments by funding the Global Mentorship Program, Global Community Council, and Awards program. Kristy Duncan, CEO and Founder of Women in Payments, expressed excitement about the relationship, highlighting Scotiabank's powerful position and commitment to developing women in the financial industry worldwide.

This sponsorship complements Scotiabank's larger commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. To increase the diversity of its employee base by 2025, the bank has established six Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Goals, concentrating on women, black people, persons with disabilities, indigenous peoples, people of colour, and LGBT+ people.

Scotiabank, a prominent bank in the Americas with about $1.4 trillion in assets as of October 31, 2023, seeks to lead the expansion of the women's community in the payments and fintech industries across the Americas over the next three years.
