The first-ever Sustainability Environment Asia (SEA) trade fair kicked off with a bang, emphasizing green economic growth and calling for responsible waste management. The three-day event, held in conjunction with E-Mobility Asia (EMA), aims to promote a cleaner and greener future.

The exhibition, which is being held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), will include approximately 100 exhibitors, including foreign pavilions from Singapore and Taiwan.

The first day of the exhibition featured notable activities such as business matching sessions and the Women and Sustainability Forum. The Singapore Business Forum brought together water firms for discussions, while the Women and Sustainability Forum included ASEAN speakers on issues ranging from Sustainable Water to Energy Transition.

The ESG Association of Malaysia (ESGAM), the Malaysian Recycling Alliance (MAREA), and the Malaysian Water Association (MWA) are among the trade show's supporting partners, as are international partners such as the Singapore Water Association (SWA) and the Taiwan Environmental Manufacturers Association (TEMA).

Ms. Vicky Tan, Project Director of Derrisen Sdn Bhd, the organizational body behind SEA and EMA, expressed appreciation for the engagement with supporting partners, highlighting SEA's commitment to Malaysia's sustainable goals. "SEA aims to accelerate the deployment of new technological innovations to navigate towards a green economy and achieve environmental goals," she added.

The waste management, circular economy, water and wastewater, green environment, and technology industries are all represented at the exhibition. The partnership between SEA and EMA is expected to encourage companies and investors to look into potential in the burgeoning sectors of sustainable mobility, waste management, and recycling.

ESGAM President, Adjunct Practice Prof. Cheah Kok Hoong, expressed optimism in the collaboration's revolutionary impact, aligning with the worldwide goal for net-zero carbon emissions. SWA Executive Director Ms. Vivien Seong emphasized the unique potential for firms to interact, cooperate, and reach receptive markets, supporting innovation and sustainability activities.

The SEA trade exhibition aims to be an excellent platform for exhibitors, showcasing cutting-edge solutions across all fields and creating relationships for a more sustainable and responsible future.
