Semiconductor firm Cirrus Logic Unveils Scholarships for Women in Engineering

A leading semiconductor company CIRRUS Logic, has announced a new scholarship program to increase the number of women studying for engineering degrees at the University of Strathclyde The company will award up to two merit scholarships that will support female students up to four years of their second year, proving academic merit and enthusiasm for STEM studies in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering.

Eddie Sinnott, Marketing and Applications Director at Cirrus Logic said, "We're excited about the opportunity to encourage and empower future engineers, especially women in engineering- this is an area where we need to have much more contributions.”Diversity drives innovation and success in the semiconductor industry. These scholarships will provide high-achieving students with the resources they need to achieve their goals and help cultivate future engineering talent."

Denise Grodé, Cirrus Logic Chief Human Resource Officer added, "Cirrus Logic contributes to supporting STEM programs in our communities around the world, developing future engineers In the Global Workforce women are still a minority and as such women should be encouraged to take up engineering careers.

The scholarship will be offered to females who will be enrolling in the second year of a bachelors or masters degree program in engineering. This group of talented women will also be able to vie for internships at Cirrus Logic thus exposing them to the real world engineering and mentoring from Cirrus Logic engineers.
