Igniting the global synergy, the Department of Government Relations (DGR) in Sharjah, in partnership with Irthi Contemporary Crafts Council (ICCC), recently hosted the “Diplomatic Day for Women Ambassadors in the UAE”.
Driving impact, the eminent gathering fostered knowledge exchange on women’s empowerment, amplifying their role and influence across sectors. The event reaffirmed Sharjah’s pivotal role in accelerating gender equity.
Strengthening high-level collaboration, the event was graced by 10 ambassadors, diplomats, and visionary leaders including Finland, Slovenia, Congo, Barbados, Mali, Malta, Latvia, Estonia, Ireland, and Cyprus. The ceremony was attended by Sheikha Jawaher Bint Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director-General of Rubu’ Qarn foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, Sheikha Hind Bint Majid Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Business Women Council; and Reem Bin Karam, Director General of Irthi Contemporary Crafts Council (ICCC); along with directors of Sharjah institutions.

Elevating artisanal excellence, Irthi, a hub for global crafts collaborations, continued to spotlight heritage crafts through eco-conscious methods, amplifying the role of Emirati women in the International Cultural sphere. Fostering hands-on-learning, Irthi facilitated an interactive session allowing attendees to collaborate with expert artisans exploring sustainable methods. The event also allowed its participants to tour Al Qurm Nature Reserve in Kalba, rendering how mangroves safeguard the coastal areas.
