By: GWL Team | Thursday, 25 January 2024

Three notable Solomon Islands businesswomen are presently attending the United Kingdom Trade Partnerships (UKTP) Pacific Women Export Leadership training in Apia, Samoa, in an effort to boost female entrepreneurs. Diana Yates of Cathliro, Ruby Lee of Solomon Indulgence, and Rachel Rahii of Wisdom Enterprises represent the Solomon Islands Women in Business Association.

This project aims to encourage dynamic women in top leadership roles in private organizations, particularly small and medium-sized businesses that export or want to join foreign markets. The workshop's goal is to provide female business leaders in the Pacific with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in competitive and advanced markets, including top-tier mentoring, peer-to-peer learning, and collaborations that position participants for high-profile trade opportunities.

The three-day event, hosted by the International Trade Centre in collaboration with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office, covers important themes such as export finance confidence, unleashing brand potential, working with sophisticated retailers, and optimizing total company value. The program is aimed to empower participants by training them to address important issues in the export industry and improving their ability to develop successful businesses.
