Ambiente 2025, a leading international exhibition for consumer goods in Frankfurt, Germany, facilitated the participation of two Sri-Lankan women-led enterprises, Selyn Exporters (Pvt) Limited and Candle House Ceylon. Spearheaded by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) in collaboration with the International Trade Centre (ITC), the event was aligned with the mission of SheTrades Sri Lanka Hub.

Reinforcing its dedication to uplift and empower women entrepreneurs, ITC supported eight women-led enterprises from Sri-Lanka, India and Bangladesh at Ambiente 2025. Funded by the United Kingdom’s International Development, the initiative was the key component of the SheTrades Commonwealth+ Programme.

Serving as a strategic platform, the exhibition enabled Sri-Lankan female entrepreneurs to highlight their innovative and sustainable range of products. The women tapped into the opportunity of catering to the increasing global preference for sustainability at the fair.

As vital players in Sri-Lanka’s export landscape, women entrepreneurs are sure to benefit from the support of the EDB and ITC. It in turn will allow them to expand their global reach, enhance economic contribution and strengthens gender inclusivity in global trade.

The participants gained access to international markets as global buyers explored potential collaborations and investment opportunities. One of the key highlights of the event was building connection with stake holders, positioned them in for long-term partnership and growth.
