Standard Chartered Bank Ghana grants GHȼ936,000 to 6 Women-Led Businesses

6 outstanding women-led businesses have been awarded with GHȼ936,000 in grants by Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC. These businesses have emerged as Standard Chartered Women in Tech Incubator programme, Cohort 4’s winners.

An intensive six-month incubation programme has been followed by the awards that involved 20 female entrepreneurs which involved a rigorous pitch session where these 6 businesses were announced as winners and received GH¢156,000 in grants, each. This was given with an intent to enhance their operations, driving innovation in their respective sectors.

The winners included Zuputo, Poka Technology Ltd, Even Sparrows Farms, Drdogood, AppCyclers and FreshLine Post Harvest Solutions.

Asiedua Addae, Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC’s B&FT Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand, and Marketing said, “We trust that these grants will help scale up their businesses across sectors such as agriculture, education, fashion, and health. As they grow, their impact will ripple through the economy.”

Additionally, Executive Director of the Ghana Climate Innovation Centre Ruka Sanusi added, “The diversity of solutions and products these women-led businesses have developed truly sets female business owners apart. Their ability to deeply understand the diverse needs of consumers, tap into different industries, and create tailored solutions demonstrates their capacity to drive innovation and meet varied market demands with creativity and foresight. This is testament to the incredible value women bring to the business world.”
