The popular Women in Tech accelerator programme, run by Dubai-based Standard Chartered in association with the DIFC Innovation Hub, has announced the start of its fifth cohort. The project promotes innovation, diversity, and general economic development by fostering sustainable growth and empowering women entrepreneurs in the technology industry in the United Arab Emirates.
The Women in Tech accelerator programme, a component of a worldwide project running in nine countries, provides female entrepreneurs with a platform to realise their potential and get beyond obstacles while speeding their entrepreneurial endeavours. Creating a global network of strong women in the IT industry has been a great accomplishment for the programme.
The partnership with DIFC Innovation Hub boosts the development of women-led enterprises by offering the chosen entrepreneurs assistance, mentoring, and access to seed money. Aspiring business owners can apply throughout the application period for a position in the programme; 10 businesses will eventually be chosen to participate.
The selected entrepreneurs will begin a transforming journey, taking advantage of a specialised curriculum that combines instruction, in-depth seminars, and priceless mentorship chances created to meet their unique requirements. The project will come to a close with a much-anticipated Demo Day in October. The 10 female-led entrepreneurial teams will present their cutting-edge company plans to a panel of possible investors, subject matter authorities, and thought leaders during this event.
The top three winners of the Women in Tech accelerator programme will get a combined $100,000 in equity-free seed money as well as visibility and networking opportunities, giving their companies a significant boost and encouraging development and expansion.
Standard Chartered UAE's Chief Executive Officer, Rola Abu Manneh, expressed delight about the fifth phase of the program's renowned accelerator. She reaffirmed the bank's and the UAE's joint commitment to advancing technological innovation and women's empowerment. The project seeks to empower women in technology by providing them with specialised assistance, mentorship, and access to seed money so they may remove obstacles and effect transformational change.
The DIFC Innovation Hub's Chief Executive Officer, Mohammad AlBlooshi, expressed his delight for the project and emphasised the Hub's commitment to assisting startups and business owners in the UAE. He emphasised how the Women in Tech project helps female entrepreneurs gain confidence, overcome obstacles, and leave a lasting impression.
More than 20 firms have been successfully accelerated by Standard Chartered UAE throughout the course of previous cohorts, and these startups have raised more than $5 million from different venture capitalists to grow their businesses both inside and beyond the UAE. This track record of achievement highlights the program's accomplishment in establishing a thriving and diverse tech environment.
The Women in Tech accelerator initiative supports the UAE's commitment to technology innovation and gender equality. The project seeks to create a better future for everyone by supporting female-led enterprises and utilising the many abilities and viewpoints of women.
With the potential to have a long-lasting effect on the technology industry in the UAE and beyond, the fifth cohort of the Women in digital accelerator programme promises to be yet another milestone in the road towards a more inclusive and healthy digital environment.
