Starbucks Foundation to offer 10 Origin Grants to Women

Starbucks Foundation has again come up with 10 new Origin Grant projects in 2024. These ten grants which is adding up to $4 million, shall benefit 19,000 women. This opportunity is active for women based on 8 origin countries across Latin America, Africa and Asia Pacific.

This Foundation has been benefiting several people over the years with an aim to advance the positive impact. In the year 2022, they announced one of the initiatives of ‘1 million women and girls in coffee-, tea- and cocoa-growing communities by 2030’.

Starbucks Foundation has impacted several women till date. They have been partnering with NGOs to reach even more women. The foundation has been promoting women’s empowerment and leadership, increase access to clean water, sanitation along with hygiene.

Starbucks chief social impact officer, Kelly Goodejohn said in a statement, “Through our Origin Grants program, we are proud to work with nonprofits across the world to uplift women in coffee-, tea-, and cocoa-growing communities with a goal to create opportunities and ultimately improve lives through the empowerment of women.”

She continued, “While we have a responsibility to care for people across the entire coffee supply chain, we know that when we invest in a woman, there are ripple effects and positive outcomes for her family and the larger community.”

As per the numbers released by the foundation, 484,000 women & girls has been impacted by them and they are still looking forward to reach their goal by the year 2023.
