TechFoundHer, an Irish organization focused on women in tech has reached the American shores and launched the new chapter in the US. The organization is conducting a series of high-profile events in Los Angeles and San Francisco with the major focus of the events being on improving equity in tech entrepreneurship for women.

Máirin Murray laid the foundation of Dublin-based TechFoundHer with the aim of supporting women to establish and lead tech companies. The organization conducts insightful programmes that are geared towards improving women founders’ skillset in terms of tech and product development. It also is a strong advocate for entrepreneur equality.

Máirin collaborated with Catherine Gray, an LA based producer to showcase her documentary Show Her the Money in Belfast and Dublin.

The event saw great success and Catherine invited Máirin to launch a new chapter of TechFoundHer in LA. The duo collaborated to co-host InnovateHer Too event earlier this month. The event brought together thought leaders, tech entrepreneurs and advocates. Important conversations about women’s underrepresentation in establishing and leading technology companies were conducted in roundtable setting.

Talking about bringing TechFoundHer to the USA, Máirin said, "The opportunity to bring TechFoundHer to America is a fantastic endorsement for our organisation and recognition of the hard work and dedication of our wider team and network”.

Being able to strengthen our work locally by reaching out globally is an important part of the work we do behind the scenes.”

TechFoundHer also hosted the Innovation Labs, which was funded through the Shared Island Initiative earlier in October.

Going forward 35 women from Ireland and Northern Ireland will receive the opportunity to learn about utilising upcoming tech trends such as AI and low-code/no-code tools to vanquish business challenges. The aim of the US chapter will be to help these women accelerate product development.
