Telford Empowers Women with Free 'Returners' Skills Program

Telford is giving a free 'Women Returners' skills training in order to assist women who are re-entering the workforce. The five-week course, hosted by Virtual Internships with backing from Telford & Wrekin Council and sponsorship from Morris Property, is aimed at women over the age of 19, and is a fully-funded employability and personal development project.

Virtual Internships, created in 2018, is dedicated to providing possibilities for professional advancement, educating employees for the future of work, building talent pipelines internationally, and breaking down cultural boundaries. The program provides possibilities for remote work experience as well as professional development classes.

Women who are interested can attend an online information session on November 29 at 11 a.m. to examine the program's appropriateness before applying. Telford & Wrekin Council's cabinet member for education, jobs, and tourist economy, Councillor Eileen Callear, stressed the course's significance in helping women rediscover confidence and abilities following a professional gap.

The program's online aspect guarantees flexibility, allowing participants to finish it from home without having to travel. Eduard Sava, Virtual Internships' partnerships account manager, emphasized the program's dedication to lowering obstacles, increasing participation, and offering opportunities for neglected areas.

As part of its social value commitment, Morris Property, a Shropshire-based commercial property developer with a century of expertise, sponsors the initiative. Morris Property contracts manager Steve Flavell expressed delight about supporting local talent and establishing a diverse staff via this project.

The Women Returners program seeks to help women reintegrate into the workforce by providing a platform for skill development, confidence building, and future career changes. The organizers intend to have a beneficial influence on people's lives that goes beyond simply providing job opportunities.
