Copious efforts and programmes have been hurled to empower women, and it is thanks to these ingenuities and programmes that many women all over the world have become mainstays of society. IAWL collaborates with NBAWF to release reports on Women in Law

Three papers on women in law and leadership in the legal profession, bench, and academy are about to be released by the Institute of African Women in Law (IAWL) in collaboration with the Nigerian Bar Association Women Forum (NBAWF). These findings are intended to inform policy decisions.

The publications provide an overview of the empirical data on women in law and leadership that was obtained as part of the Institute for African Women in Law's Women in Law and Leadership (WILL) initiative.

African Girls Can Code (AGCCI) Initiative Phase II application calls for participation in coding camps

The State University of Zanzibar (SUZA) will organize the first coding camp in Zanzibar from February 27 to March 10, 2023, and UN Women Tanzania is putting out a call for applications for suitable girls to attend.

To put at least 2,000 African women on the path to pursuing education and careers in the data, technology, and technology (ICT) fields, the project will train and authorize them towards becoming computer programmers, developers, and designers.

Global Software Firm Emerson promotes gender equality in UAE business leadership roles

Global software and engineering leader Emerson has joined a group of two dozen major multinational companies in signing a pledge to promote gender equality and increase leadership roles for women in the UAE. The ‘Pledge to Accelerate Women’s Leadership in the UAE Private Sector’ seeks to ensure equal pay and fair compensation practices, promote equitable recruitment and promotion, guarantee fairness in policies, and encourage transparency about progress.

The public-private initiative was established in 2019 by the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) of the UAE’s National Committee on SDGs, the UAE Gender Balance Council (UAE GBC), and the Federal Competitiveness And Statistics Centre (FCSC) to meet the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 5: Gender Equality, which prioritizes highlighting the importance of women’s participation at all levels of decision-making in business.

New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern resigns

Jacinda Ardern, the prime minister of New Zealand, made the shocking revelation that she is stepping down while also announcing that the country will hold elections in October of this year.

Ardern stated that she "no longer had sufficient fuel in the tank" to perform the job at the party's annual caucus gathering on Thursday. It is now, she said.
