Female STEM leaders in Kuwait to have experiential learning opportunities through GE

GE (NYSE: GE) renewed its commitment to developing local talent in Kuwait and also assured to advance students understanding and interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. A two-day event was organized in collaboration with INJAZ Kuwait that promotes training to foster vital skills such as problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking and also build a solid foundation in science, technology, and innovation.

11 February was observed as the 8th International Day of Women and Girls in Science where more than 200 students from the American Creativity Academy in Kuwait. The students obtained critical knowledge with essential technology to pursue STEM fields. VF Foundation distributes $8.3 million in awards to address fashion sustainability supported by VF Corporation

The $8.3 million in grants were given out by the VF Foundation, a private grant-making organization supported by VF Corporation, to programmes promoting sustainable development, inclusive and accessible outdoor areas, female empowerment, and community building.

The remaining investments went towards mentorship and scholarship programmes created to promote diversity in the outdoor, footwear, and clothing industries.

71st Miss World pageant to be held in the UAE

The 71st Miss World Pageant has been decided to be organized in the United Arab Emirates in May 2023. It is the first time that the Middle East is organizing this event. The former pageants of Miss World announced this through their social media handles on Monday, 13 February 2023.

Samsung Ventures invested in Natural Cycles by bringing Cycle Tracking to the Galaxy Watch5 series

One of the top firms for women's health in the area of birth control and cycle tracking, Natural Cycles, has raised $7 million in a round of funding headed by Samsung Ventures. All of Natural Cycles' current investment firms Heartcore Capital, Headline, Bonnier Ventures, and EQT Ventures contributed to the financing round as well.

Natural Cycles created the first app in history as a Class II medical device, and it uses a proprietary algorithm to ascertain each user's reproductive status using body temperature and other important fertility indicators. The app has received FDA approval for usage in the US and has received certification for use as contraceptives in Singapore, Australia, and Europe. Dr. Elina Berglund, the creator of Natural Cycles, tells me, "While most users still measure their daily temperatures with a mechanical thermometer, our app has gained regulatory clearances to link with third-party wearable technologies.

WB and UAE GBC talk about methods to increase Women's Economic Engagement

To improve women's economic engagement in the region, the World Bank and the UAE Gender Balance Council (UAE GBC) met. Nikki Haley, a prominent Indian American, announced her campaign for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024. She stated that her goal is to move past the "stale notions and faded concepts" of the past.
