Curtin University's Cleo Wee Receives Prestigious Global Voices World Health Assembly Scholarship

Cleo Wee, a medical student from the Curtin University has received the prestigious Global Voices World Health Assembly (WHA) Scholarship. The scholarship gives young leaders’ opportunities to create a difference on global healthcare issues.

Cleo is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at Curtin. As part of the scholarship, she will complete a Policy Fellowship and join the World Health Assembly Conference in Geneva, Switzerland.

ProjectY cowork To Host Networking Event for Women in Business in New Mexico

A free networking event for Northern New Mexico’s women in business will be conducted at projectY cowork Los Alamos on June 8th. This event will provide an opportunity for meeting and exchanging ideas to women business owners, professionals, and entrepreneurs while also extending the same prospect to non-binary and individuals who identify as women.

Onitsha Women Group to Empower 5,000 Women & Youths with Micro & Small Business Ventures

The Onitsha Women's Group has planned 5,000 micro & small enterprises empowerment for the community's youth & women under the auspices of the Onitcha Leadership & Entrepreneurship Centre (OLEC) & the Ado Business Incubation Centre (ABIC).

The organisation held a lecture on 26th May in Onitsha, Anambra State, with the theme "Promoting Gender Equality through Digital Literacy" to further its goal.

UK Charity Women in Rail boardAppoints Five new trustees

UK’s networking platform, Women in Rail (WR) has appointed five new trustees to its governing board.

The announcement was made by Shona Clive, Vice-Chair of Women in Rail at the Women in Rail Awards. She welcomed Angie Doll, Sharon Salmon, Darren O’Brien, Karen Paton and Neil Robertson to the Women in Rail team.

FIFA extends collaboration with Frito-Lay North America for FIFA Women's World Cup 2023

FIFA, the body that oversees international football, has announced an extension of its collaboration with Frito-Lay North America, a company that makes snack foods. As a result of the extension, Frito-Lay has been awarded the official USA snack and the North American tournament sponsor of the upcoming 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, which will take place in Australia and New Zealand from July 20 to August 20, 2023.

Frito-Lay is prepared to introduce its snack items through this extension, Lay's Doritos, Cheetos, and Cracker Kill, which will be wrapped with the branding of the major tournament. By continuing to collaborate with culturally significant occasions, this alliance, which incorporates both bodies, intends to honour fans while leveraging the popularity of women's sports and encouraging females to participate in the sporting world. The organisation had previously cooperated with Qatar's hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Survey by Bain & Company says "More women working in GCC than ever before"

While the GCC has experienced never-before progress in terms of women's presence in the workforce, proactive and quantifiable gender parity still has to be accomplished, according to a recent research from the international consultant Bain & Company.

In addition to focus sessions and interviews with 50 female leaders in the GCC, the Advancing Gender Equity in the Middle East Workforce study also features diagnostics of 25 of the top GCC organisations and the findings of a poll of 1,150 professional men and women.
