Pakistani Micro Finance Bank MMBL Joins GSMA's Connected Women Commitment Initiative

A global digital operator that provides converged connectivity and online services, has announced that its banking operation in Pakistan Mobilink Microfinance Bank Ltd (MMBL), has signed up to the GSMA’s Connected Women Commitment Initiative. This names Mobilink the first microfinance bank in the world to do so.

Set up in 2016, the GSMA Connected Women Commitment Initiative aims to accelerate digital and financial inclusion for women across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Since its inception, over 40 mobile operators have made formal commitments. The commitment initiative’s benefit has collectively brought mobile internet and mobile money services to over 55 million additional women.

Women led Firms at Incubator SETsquared Bristol raise a record-breaking 45% of the total funds

15 million of the £33 million raised by the 85 businesses in the University of Bristol incubator were raised by women. This shows how dedicated the company is to diversity in the IT sector, as seen by its programs Enterprising Women and Breakthrough Bursary.

Google releases a Doodle in honour of International Women's Day that shows women supporting one another. The Doodle features powerful women who support advancement on matters crucial to the lives of women everywhere. It also honours women who band together to research, educate, and advocate for their rights.

Each letter of the word "GOOGLE" has stories that show women as the primary carers for individuals from all walks of life and as vital support systems for one another as mothers.

Nike discloses Leadership Advancements

Nike has stated that as of March 13, Cathy Sparks, who is now VP, of Nike Direct, EMEA, would transition to manage the APLA region as VP/GM, APLA, and Amy Montagne, who is currently VP/GM, of APLA, will move to lead the women's business as VP/GM women's.

The business disclosed Whitney Malkiel's decision to quit Nike as VP/GM of Women's. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), and Honorary President of Emirates Business Women Council (EBWC).

The two-day summit's topic, "Impact of Digital Revolution on Business," is in line with the UAE Strategy for Digital Leadership 2031–2071, which raises the profile of female entrepreneurs locally, regionally, and internationally.
