Former New Zealand PM Jacinda Ardern given Country's Top Honor for Service During Shooting, Pandemic

Former Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has been bestowed with one of New Zealand’s highest awards for her services in leading the country through difficult situations including a mass shooting and Covid-19 pandemic.

Jacinda was born as part of King Charles III’s birthday ceremonies. Made a Dame Grand Companion, the second highest honor in New Zealand. She will now be referred to as Dame Jacinda. The Prime Minister chooses the Royal guests of honor twice a year in New Zealand. It is signed by Charles, the British King, who is also recognized as the King of New Zealand.

US First Lady Jill Biden Delivers Speech at Women's Empowerment Event in Morocco

At the Ennakhil Association in Marrakech, Morocco, First Lady Jill Biden gave a stirring address about the significance of women's empowerment and the necessity for women to band together to make the world a better place. Jill complimented the Ennakhil Association's and its founder Zakia's efforts to advance women's rights and boost those of people with disabilities in Morocco.

Jill emphasised the value of women's voices and the obstacles women have had to overcome in order to be heard. She discussed the abuse, hatred, prejudice, and exclusion that women have endured, but she also made the point that women have never kept quiet. According to Jill, women can rewrite the histories of injustice and inequality by banding together to mentor, heal, and share their stories.

Sidrah 2.0 launches the Young Women's Leadership Program's second season

The youth leadership initiative for young Omani women, Sidrah 2.0, announced the start of the initiative on 5th June. The programme seeks to develop and improve the talents of Oman's gifted children after the outstanding success of its debut in 2022.

Sidrah 2.0, which is co-designed and co-run by Lahunna Oman and Outward Bound Oman, brings together a varied group of young women from all over the Sultanate who are between the ages of 20 and 30. It is open to everybody, including students, recent graduates, jobseekers, and young professionals. The programme aims to provide participants the self-assurance, fortitude, and leadership skills they'll need to develop into the next generation of transformative leaders. Sidrah 2.0 aspires to create a transformative learning experience that penetrates into their hearts and creates a lifelong appetite for continuous learning by combining experiential learning, workshops, mentorship, community building, and career counselling.

The 2023 Africa Women Innovation & Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF) Awards Accepting Nominations

The call for nominations for the 2023 AWIEF Awards has been made public by the Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF). The renowned awards, now in its seventh edition since 2017, commemorate, reward, and celebrate the accomplishments of female company owners and entrepreneurs in Africa across a range of industrial sectors for their commitment to the inclusive economic growth and development of the continent.

The deadline for nominations for the 2023 AWIEF Awards is July 17, 2023. Candidates have the option of being nominated by others or by themselves. A prestigious team of business executives and experts will assess the submissions.

U.S. Department of Agriculture declared Important Staff Appointments

The names of the people who will fill top staff jobs at the USDA in Washington, D.C., were released on 7th June 2023. Senior Advisor for Rural Engagement, Delivery, and Prosperity Cindy Axne has been appointed:

Axne held the office of U.S. House Representative for Iowa's 3rd Congressional District from 2019 to 2023 prior to joining USDA. She served as Co-Chair of the Congressional Rural Caucus and on the House Committees on Agriculture and Financial Services.

The University of East London's female founders were awarded 10,000 Pounds

As a part of the University of East London's Diversity Innovation Summit, six brilliant female entrepreneurs have presented their ideas for the business venture to an esteemed judging panel at the Female Founder's Demo Day pitch competition. The event was held at the Docklands Campus on 31 May 2023.

Some of the renowned and prominent members from the London Entrepreneurship ecosystem, including Female Investment Consortiums, livery firms, incubators and accelerators, corporate banking partners, and Angel+VC Funders, attended the event in addition to UEL stakeholders.
