Adesuwa Okunbo-Rhodes Wins 2X Global Woman Manager 2023

Adesuwa Okunbo-Rhodes, the Founder and Managing Partner at Aruwa Capital Management, one of the few women-led investment firms in South Africa has been awarded as the 2023 2X Global Woman Manager of the Year 2023. She had earlier won the prestigious Impact Investor of the Year 2023 recognition. Adesuwa Okunbo put out a statement where she described the award “as a testament to the resilience of every woman navigating difficult paths towards long-term success.”

PM Hasina Celebrates Begum Rokeya, Empowers Women

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina emphasized her government's commitment to women's empowerment and equal rights during a ceremony commemorating Begum Rokeya Shakhawat Hossain's 143rd birth and 91st death anniversaries. Begum Rokeya, a trailblazer in Bangalee women's education and social change, was honoured during the event, which was hosted by the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.

Three Egyptian firms have won the She's Next competition, a joint effort of Visa and Commercial International Bank (CIB), in a celebration of female entrepreneurship. The competition, which aimed to accelerate the digital transformation of women-owned companies, received over 4,000 submissions from around Egypt. Hadeer Shalaby of Green Fashion, Salma Tammam of Reme-D, and Nihal Ali of Fincart were named winners in a renowned award event hosted at the Hyatt Regency Cairo West.

PVH Appoints Presidents for Tommy Hilfiger NA and Chief People Officer

PVH Corp. has named Sophia Hwang-Judiesch as President of Tommy Hilfiger North America in a strategic move to strengthen its senior leadership team. Hwang-Judiesch, who is well-known for her skill in promoting brand and market growth, will start on January 8, 2024.

She will report directly to Stefan Larsson, CEO of PVH, and will also join the global TOMMY HILFIGER executive team. Hwang-Judiesch offers extensive expertise from past positions at Ulta Beauty, Carter's Oshkosh, Esprit, and, most recently, Hudson's Bay, where she served as President.
