TISA Partners with PNG IWEC to Empower Women Entrepreneurs

TISA has partnered with PNG Indigenous Women Entrepreneurs Connect (IWEC) to improve the business environment for Indigenous women in Papua New Guinea (PNG). The alliance intends to support women entrepreneurs at all levels, from micro and informal firms to aspirational and woman-led enterprises.

TISA has provided K200,000 in funding to PNG IWEC, a trailblazing social company devoted to developing local women entrepreneurs across PNG. Michael Koisen, TISA's Group CEO, underlined the importance of assisting women in business, underlining the necessity for information exchange, networking, market access, and capital to sustain and build their companies.

The cooperation underscores TISA's dedication to improving community well-being and supporting local companies at all levels, whether informal, micro, or tiny.

The money infusion will allow PNG IWEC to undertake targeted training programs, form strategic alliances to promote the growth of women-led enterprises, and provide a supportive environment for aspiring and micro/informal entrepreneurs.

Notably, PNG IWEC plans to establish a social insurance scheme for women and attend an economic development event held by Indigenous Women in Industry in New Zealand (IWI). This event, slated for February 8-9, 2024, will feature 12 local female entrepreneurs representing PNG IWEC, thanks to TISA's funding.

Linda Paru, Founder/CEO of PNG IWEC, expressed thanks for TISA's major platinum sponsorship, which would enable their participation in the IWI Summit. Over 400 Indigenous women are expected to attend the summit, which will serve as a venue for networking, collaborating, and highlighting the achievements of Indigenous women entrepreneurs throughout the world.
